Copied from a map prepared under the direction of the Chief Engineer, G.H.Q.,S.W.P.A., by Base Map Plant, U.S.Army.G.H.Q.S.W.P.A., 1944, based on a Dutch map of 1912.

Roads are shown as on a Dutch 1:1,000,000 map of 1941. (Automobiel Kaart van Java & Madura): the spelling of place-names also conforms to modern practice.
